Mastopexy (Breast Lift)
The full breast lift involves an incision along the crease underneath the breast, incisions around the areola and a vertical incision between the areola and the base of the breast. It consistently produces the desired shape and position of the breast on the chest wall. In this technique, excess skin is removed, the breast is elevated and frequently, the size of the areola is reduced. This approach allows maximal change to the breast.
Preparation before the surgery?
Mastopexy is done under general anesthesia patient need to go through random blood work ups as per standard operating procedure in the clinics, patient need to get a medical clearance for general health and undergo medical history check up. Patient need to tell any allergies, accidents, trauma or any concerns regarding his health before the surgery started.
How long is the procedure?
Usually breast lifting operation will consumed 3 to 4hours procedure.
Because of the incision site created at the base of the breast healing time will be few weeks to 1 month.
What to expect after surgery?
Expect tightness, fullness and heaviness on chest area.
Dressing is commonly seen during first few days after surgery to absorb fluids created at the incision site.
Swelling and bruising is expected for few weeks until 1 month of healing.
